We have enough storage space in our home. Said no one ever! Even though you have a lot of storage space, there is something incredibly fun about secret compartments. In fact, everyone loves new ways to hide things or valuables in plain sight. If you are into hidden compartments and are looking to create one to store your valuable items and at the same time boost curb appeal in the setting, then you need to create a flowerpot with storage space. It’s fun, easy, and takes just a few minutes. There are two easy ways to create it and here’s how to do it:
For this, you will need cardboard, pencil, scissors, hot glue, a small faux plant, fake moss, and a plant container.
Disassemble the fake plant, take your plant container, invert it, and place it on the cardboard sheet. Trace the border on the cardboard using a pencil and cut the shape. Make sure that the cut cardboard piece fits just inside the top of the container and does not settle at the bottom.
You can even paint the cardboard piece or cover it using tape. Then, poke a small hole in the center of the cardboard piece, grab your fake plant and push its stem through the cut hole. Ensure that your plant top rests on the cardboard. Trim the stem protruding from below the cardboard if it's too long. Use some hot glue to keep the plant rested on the cardboard.
If the plant foliage does not cover the cardboard entirely, then glue some fake moss on it to hide the cardboard.
Now put this whole floral arrangement in the flowerpot. Since it fits just inside, you will have a whole lot of space below it. You can use this storage spot to stash away money, keys, office supplies and more.
For this, you will need an empty plastic container, craft knife, hot glue, dirt, a small fake plant, and a plant container.
Disassemble the fake plant, take the plastic container and ensure that it can be pushed only about 1-2 inches from the top.
Now cut a small opening in the center of the container. Grab your fake plant and push its stem through the cut hole. Ensure that your plant top rests on the plastic container and use some hot glue to make it stay there.
Now put some dirt around the plant and on the plastic container to conceal it. Place this container and plant in the flowerpot. Since it cannot be pushed all the way down, you will have space at its bottom. You can use this spot to hide anything you want – watch, keys, a few dollars, and more.
